What is Extended Gamut?

Extended Gamut is a method of color separation and color reproduction that uses 6 or 7 primary colors, instead of the traditional 4 primary process colors. The additional colors (typically an orange-red; a blue-purple; and a green) allow for the reproduction of more shades of visible color than can be created by the 4 primary colors. Also sometimes called “hi-fi color”.
