What is Postscript?
Postscript is a page description language developed by Adobe Systems, primarily for use in the graphics industry for imaging in the graphics industry. It is primarily an object oriented language that describes the arrangement of geometrical objects, line text characters, and graphical elements such as lines. For making printing plates with digitally-oriented processes, the instructions in a Postscript file is often converted to bitmapped instructions using a RIP (“raster image processor”).
