Walter Nackaerts Joins AVT as President, Europe
Industry Veteran Joins Leader in Print Inspection, Process Control & Quality Assurance as Head of European Operations
AVT, the world leader in print inspection, print process control, and quality assurance, has named industry veteran Walter Nackaerts as its new President of European operations. Mr. Nackaerts, who will be based in Mechelen, Belgium, brings more than 25 years of experience in a broad range of managerial positions at multinational companies in the printing and healthcare industries.
In his new role, Mr. Nackaerts will lead AVT’s European operations at a particularly promising, opportunity-rich time for the company. AVT has engaged in several high-profile installations and partnerships of late, most prominently a strategic alliance with leading systems solutions provider Erhardt + Leimer (E+L) that combines AVT’s inspection, press control and workflow management capabilities with E+L’s expertise in web, press and vision systems.
Most recently, Mr. Nackaerts served as Managing Director of Emerging Markets for Agfa Graphics. In this role, he was responsible for go-to-market strategies, sales and service for the newspaper, commercial, packaging, and sign & display sectors. Prior to this role, he was Head of Global Sales & Service at Agfa Healthcare Imaging, where he was instrumental to the business’ worldwide success – particularly its impressive expansion in China – as well as the design and roll-out of a new portfolio of direct radiology solutions for parent company Agfa Healthcare.
Mr. Nackaerts began his career with Xerox where, during his 13-year tenure, he accrued a wealth of experience in sales, marketing and service in the European marketplace, eventually gaining appointment as head of the company’s development center for digital printing solutions in the UK.
According to Jaron Lotan, CEO of AVT: “Having Walter Nackaerts as a new member of the management team at AVT strengthens our executive focus to drive business and capture the growth opportunities within the European, Russian, Baltics and French speaking African countries. I wish Walter success in this role and welcome him to the AVT family.”
Walter graduated from the University College IHAM in Antwerp, Belgium as an Industrial Engineer in Electronics and Informatics. He completed his academic background at the University of Brussels, Belgium with a postgraduate in Master of Management, and at the Business School INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, where he completed the XEROX Senior Management Program.
